The New York Times bashes the Constitution

New York Times editors are trying to get around the Supreme Court decision concerning gun control in Washington D.C. Read it here.

For years Washington D.C. has had an unconstitutional gun control law. After having their law struck down, the City has been trying to return gun control by flouting the Supreme Court. Congress, not trusting the City, has written a bill protecting the rights of of D.C. citizens.

The New York Times doesn’t like it.

They say it “tramples” on the right of D.C. to govern itself. I have news for you… the Constitution clearly states what you can and can’t do. The Supreme Court has told the city that their ‘gun control’ violates citizens’ rights and will not be tolerated.

Some things are inalienable rights and governments can’t change that wether they want to or not. Some things are not open to a vote. Our Founding Fathers knew the danger of power hungry officials.

The NYTimes apparently has issues with the Founding Fathers.

Too bad. That’s why the Founding Fathers are admired two hundred years later and the NYTimes are reviled in their own time.

Gail Collins says McCain is spinning

Gail Collins says John McCain is spinning his views. Read it here.

John McCain has been talking about the credit problems brought on by the housing bubble. Gail Collins is busy accusing McCain of changing his views to meet current events. Gail hasn’t bothered to do her homework. Not surprising.

Back in 2005, John McCain co-sponsored a bill to tighten up oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He saw problems coming and warned everyone that unsafe lending practices could wreck havoc on Wall Street. Sub prime loans, and bad paper were a disaster in the making.

Guess who killed the bill? Chris Dodd, Barack Obama, and the Democratic Party did. Of course, Dodd and Obama getting hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from Fannie and Freddie had nothing to do with it, so they say.

Did you miss that bill Gail? Have you bothered to ask Obama why he didn’t support it? Have you followed the money Gail?

Obama’s supporters are desperately trying to rewrite history. There is a real problem caused by the credit crunch. The Democrats failed to act on John McCain’s warning and they are running for cover.

Gail Collins is handing them a sheet.

Barbies are beautiful

Good old Maureen Dowd has been investigating Sarah’s roots. Read it here.

Imagine Maureen wandering around Wasilla, Alaska. Coming from New York she must have have felt like she had entered the Twilight Zone. Where were the street beggars? Where were the street muggers? Anyone here know where I can get a ‘watch’?

Coastal liberals simply cannot imagine life in ‘normal land U.S.A.’

Here in our churches, we actually have books in our church libraries. I know Maureen finds it hard to believe, but some of the parishioners can actually read. Being a church library, the books reflect the beliefs taught in said church. Maureen thinks a church shouldn’t have the right to choose their own books.

Maybe Maureen should choose for all of us.

Maureen also pokes fun at a local young lady. She said Obama gives her the “creeps”. Hey, Obama gives me the “creeps” too. In fact Obama gives most of us the “creeps”.

If he doesn’t give Maureen the “creeps”, maybe she ought to check her ‘creep meter’ to see if it’s working properly.

Seeing some anti-Palin sporting “Barbies for war” signs, Maureen figures she’s scored a point. A big one. She doesn’t understand that Americans may want a woman tough enough to fight when there’s fighting to be done. I can guarantee you that no one will follow Maureen over the hill.

Maureen pretends there are no hills.

Citing a retired school principle, Maureen doesn’t say principle of what or where, he called Governor Palin “simplistic”.

Well Maureen, some things are simple.

Is decency too “simplistic” for you?

Is courage too “simplistic” for you?

Pelosi’s phony drilling ‘compromise’

The New York Times supports Mrs. Pelosi’s phony drilling ‘compromise.’ Read it here.

With the American people coming out in favor of more drilling, Pelosi had to act. Her proposal? Let’s maybe allow a few wells one hundred miles off shore, in some places, if states allow it and if we spend a fortune in increased taxes on windmills.

What a deal.

Cutting out almost 90% of the available oil fields, and making drilling unnecessarily difficult fits with the anti energy leftist cause. Rather than giving the royalties to the states involved, the NYTimes calls this “bribes” to the states, Pelosi plans on spending whatever taxes are raised on mass transit and windmill for who?

You can bet your last dollar California will get the lions share, along with a few other metropolitan areas like New York and Chicago.

The states involved should demand the royalties and tell the Pelosi greed merchants, er, environmental econuts to steal their money elsewhere. You want to waste money on windmill subsidies, mass transit subsidies and whatever else, pay for it yourself.

The NYTimes, and the Democrats are horrified that someone will be able to see an oil derrick offshore. Of course, seeing hundreds of windmills offshore doesn’t bother them a bit.

Windmills are very land intensive. It takes a huge number of windmills, and a huge amount of space, not to mention the large number of power lines to produce and transport the same amount of energy as from a couple of oil rigs, not to mention a small nuclear reactor.

Talk about scenic blight.

It’s time the Republicans shove a real energy policy down Pelosi’s throat. She may choke, but the American people will thank them.

Paul Krugman sees a “Blizzard of lies”

With the presidential campaign heating up, Paul Krugman sees lies, lies, lies.

Attempting to ‘clear up’ the ‘facts’ in the current campaign, Paul Krugman attacks the McCain Campaign.

How about the “bridge to nowhere.” Governor Palin nixed the earmarked bridge. Paul is upset that Alaska still received the money, but nixed is nixed. Federal earmarks for unwanted and useless projects have gotten out of hand and it’s about time local politicians said enough.

Paul is probably upset because Obama and Biden both voted for the pork involved.

Take the “sex education” smear. Obama supported a sex education program starting in Kindergarten. Paul says it not true since the “sex education” would be “age appropriate.”

Well, that’s still sex education, and does anyone really trust Planned Parenthood to decide what’s “age appropiate?” I sure don’t.

Putting a little lipstick on that one are you Paul?

Speaking of lipstick, Paul says Obama never meant it as an insult of Governor Palin. If you’ve heard the audience laughing in response to Obama’s line, they certainly knew what he meant.

The crowd knew, Obama knew, and we do too. Maybe Paul is just clueless.

Paul’s ultimate objection to the McCain campaign is media coverage. The whole world knows Obama has been getting a free ride, and has been getting one for nineteen months. Paul though, says the media needs to get tougher on the Republicans.

I wonder how they’d do that?
